    Project Overview

Continuing their long running relationship with this High Street stalwart, JM Scully were again appointed by Boots for another major flagship store fit-out. Acting as under a D&B contract the store fit-out included an Opticians Store, Premium Beauty area, Photo Area, Pharmacy, Food and Drink chillers, multiple payment zones and a large sales area with merchandised gondolas. The store is set over three floors (sales on GF with two floors of staff areas below).

In addition to the normal contract T&C’s the JMS team were tasked with implementing new client initiatives into the design to make it the most forward thinking and premium looking store in their portfolio. Using a solid surface material on the shopfront to give a premium look and feel – the first time this material has been used in a Boots store. Coffered ceiling design incorporating LED light troughs and controllable coloured wall wash lighting to the perimeter. Designing and installing a floor fed power and data system embedded within the new floor screed.

One of the major challenges for the JMS Team was working within and around the large-scale Westfield construction site where there were over 3,500 operatives working on site daily carrying out a multi-billion-pound extension to this already well established shopping centre, making it the largest shopping destination in Europe.

JMS instigated collaborative planning techniques to deliver a reduced programme duration to work for the client and the store opening date set by Westfield.

The team once again demonstrated JMS’ exceptional health and safety standards with zero accidents

Kevin Birch – Retail Pharmacy Operations Director (who opened the store) said:

“the best Boots store I have ever seen”
