Fit-out to developers shell of a New ‘Edge-of-Town’ format store to Retail Park development in Glasgow

Following the demise of another contractor originally allocated and working on this project, J M Scully were drafted in at short notice to pick up the works and complete within the original timelines and as always to Boots’ exacting standards.
We are proud to say that the project was duly completed on time and in line with the targeted store opening date.
Taking the developers empty shell we completed the fit-out of Ground floor sales area with mezzanine floor at rear of unit to form BOH areas including stock room. This was a hard-park unit, with no sales floor ceiling, meaning the design required de-strat fans and high level containment, all supported from a maximum 9m roof height. As we took on this project part-way through the M&E designs hadn’t been completed and long lead items i.e. goods lift, hadn’t been ordered so the team utilised tried and trusted sub-contractors and suppliers due to the short lead in period, but still managed to keep it all within budget. This scheme was delivered to current Boots specification with no significant deviation from previous experience in our delivery method and programme
As well as ensuring that we overcame design and procurement issues on this project the team also overcame a significant problem with the ‘Building Warrant’ not being in place so they worked diligently in ensuring the correct information was made available to satisfy the building control officer and to still ensure works completed on time.
