This project involved closing the existing Boots store located in The Lawns Arcade on the platform, stripping out the sales floor back to a shell, whilst maintaining the basement staff facilities in its original footprint. The unit was then handed back to Network Rail to carry out construction work, alterations and a glass fronted extension to the front of the unit.

In the interim we opened a temporary store on Platform One turning a former Ladbrokes bookmakers into a small Healthcare and Pharmacy store offering a prescription service to comply with the NHS licensing laws.

When the newly extended unit was completed and handed back, we carried out a full sales floor fit out including all M&E services, sprinklers, alarms and a goods lift which were all linked to the stations systems, as well as a new Dispensary and Healthcare department, Future Food chiller cabinets and all new fixtures and fittings. A full refurbishment of the existing basement staff facilities, including new ceilings, floors, decorations and fixtures and fittings to compliment the sales floor completed this fit out.

This was a particularly challenging project due to the working restrictions at the station under the rules and conditions set out by Network Rail. There was a Hilton hotel directly above our unit so the timing of all noisy works had to be carefully considered and with the heightened security at the station, the logistics and planning of all deliveries and communications with Network Rail was key to ensuring we met the programme deadlines
