Team Scully raised over £3k for Macmillan Cancer Support

Team Scully after the ride

On Sunday 6th July Team Scully got on their bikes and participated in the Dorset Macmillan Bike Ride through the lovely Dorset countryside. All in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. It was a real challenge for the team and very well supported by our sponsors who have so far helped us raise over £3,000….and we’re still counting! Thanks to all who supported us, the sore limbs were worth it.

Vodafone Rationalisation Programme & J M Scully

Continuing to build on their success and recognition as a national UK based retail contractor, J M Scully are pleased to announce that they have secured a position on the Vodafone Brand Rationalisation programme spanning across a two year framework and refurbishing an average of three stores every four weeks.

vodafone-shopFollowing the successful completion and assessment of a trial store for this framework in Coventry (pictured) mid-way through 2013 and continuing the great work already underway with Vodafone Retail Inspiration Programme the J M Scully team were invited to competitively tender for this framework.

We have just commenced works and this will see the team deliver New Acquisitions, Relocations and Refurbishments across the UK. Working to a standard Schedule or rates and with a very short lead in period (4 weeks from briefing), this will be a very fluid programme with no margin for error, so the critical success factor is control of supply chain. In this respect, we are pleased to say that our teams throughout will directly control just over 70% of the supply chain

Look out for a new look Vodafone near you soon.

J M Scully Announce Involvement in Bounce Back Scheme

Bounceback In another move which demonstrates our commitment to society in general J M Scully are pleased to announce our involvement with ‘Bounce Back’.

Bounce Back is a Charity and Social Enterprise focussed on training and employment of ex-offenders. The charity firmly believes that everyone has the ability to change and working in several prisons, as well as with London Probation, they offer training, work experience and employment to offenders at the end of their sentences using the skills developed both in custody and on release.

Helping people re-engage with the community, Bounce Back acts as a ‘bridge’ between prison and full time employment. They give people a chance to see a career path, gain confidence, obtain a reference to move on or, in some cases, stay with their teams in the social enterprise.

The CIPD state: “There’s convincing evidence to show that there are business benefits for including ex-offenders in targeted recruitment programmes, not only to address prevailing skill shortages, but also regarding issues of corporate responsibility and working towards the creation and maintenance of inclusive and economically successful communities in which people and businesses can prosper.”

We are currently in discussions with one of the schemes’ Social Enterprise teams who provide a ‘Painting & Decorating’ service and hope to bring some news on our engagement soon…
