Project Overview

Continuing a run of previous projects completed for this US fashion giant J M Scully won the opportunity in competitive tender to fit-out this 46,000 sq/ft city centre project.

Taking occupation following an extensive shell project to create 5 floors of retail space contained within a steel frame building with sub-basement sprinkler storage area, a retail basement, with 4 retail levels above and a plant room on the roof. The buildings high specification facade was a combination of structural glazing, stone render, and stone and copper cladding.

A striking feature of the store is its main entrance on the ground floor where the wall leans away from the main structure, creating an internal atrium.

Being situated on one of Liverpool’s busiest high streets presented a set of logistical challenges for the site team. The area was fully pedestrianised so careful co-ordination of deliveries to set periods became necessary throughout. A specific request to shorten the overall programme presented further challenges but the team were able to accommodate this with careful re-scheduling and effectively creating a mini programme within the overall scheme to complete major adjustments to the shell and core.

One of the major features of the project was the incorporation of giant Audio Visual wall on the corner elevation as can be seen above. Three large main entrances and a vast Basement retail trading space coupled with the US spec shop equipment throughout the five trading floors brought together a very impressive store which created Forever 21’s flagship in the North West.
